Our range contains no animal products, however, we are not Halal certified.
I hope this helps and do let us know if you have any other questions.

Of course, it's always best to consult your doctor, but Lyre's is classified as non-alcoholic, which means it has an ABV (Alcohol By Volume) of 0.5% or less. There are trace amounts of alcohol (the range sits between 0.2 and 0.3%) which is a similar level to orange juice or Kombucha. You'll even find about the same amount of alcohol in foods like bread or ripe fruit, believe it or not.

Provided you're comfortable with that as well as the all natural flavours and sweeteners that make up the bevoir you're good to imbibe in the majority of our range. The only exception would be our Dry London Spirit, Pink London Spirit and Ready to Drink G&T as these do contain quinine. The majority of the quinine in our Dry London Spirit comes from cinchona bark, as this is the “natural” quinine flavour. Therefore it is recommended that pregnant women avoid drinking our Dry London Spirit, Pink London Spirit and Ready to Drink G&T.

Best storage practices depend on couple of things, like the climate where you live, your storage situation, and how often you drink it! As a general rule of thumb, once opened, it is best refrigerated and consumed within 12 weeks of opening. Here are some handy tips below that should help get the most out of your Lyre's Spirit.

  • Always reseal with original cap after opening.
  • Do not leave bottle open or replace cap with pourer.
  • Once open, Lyre's is best refrigerated for optimum freshness.
  • We also recommend enjoying your bevoir within 12 weeks of opening

The date on our bottle is a Best Before Date (BBD). Basically, a BBD means the product is optimal before the specified date and as long as it has not been damaged, deteriorated, or perished it should still be safe, although it’s possible the flavour profile could have decreased over time.
For bottles past their BBD we suggest checking for any particles in the liquid. If you can’t see any particles then have a smell, then taste a small amount to make sure it tastes OK. Milk is a similar example - if it is past the BBD, a small taste and smell test can make it clear whether it's consumable. If it looks, smells, and tastes safe, it’s good to go. Once opened, we recommend storing in the fridge to protect the flavour profile and keep it fresher for longer.

The true wizardry of Lyre’s comes when they are used in cocktails or with mixers, according to the recipes developed by our talented mixologists, rather than consumed neat. Our recipes use different ratios to those based on their boozy brothers to provide the perfect balance. We also suggest the use of large ice cubes or refrigerating your bottles, and only briefly shaking or stirring your drinks, as quickly melting ice can dilute the taste.

We pay homage to the greats here at Lyre’s, but we need to be upfront that there are some aspects of high proof spirits that simply aren’t possible to reproduce. Without the ethanol and high levels of sugar that alcohol contain, our products do have a different viscosity to traditional spirits. Lyre’s have focused on the key flavour profiles and mouth feel which best come to life when mixed as part of a cocktail recipe.

Non-alcoholic spirits are a new exciting emerging category and with that comes learnings for all of us (just like almond milk would have been compared to dairy milk when it first launched). Both achieve the desired outcome but have different viscosity, and both have a great place for everyone. The more variety in the market then the more freedom you have to drink a drink your way.

Great question, you can find some delicious recipes from our talented mixology team at our Mixology Hub

Lyre’s is a product designed for the enjoyment of adult tastes. The product has been created for people of legal drinking age looking for a sophisticated non-alcohol alternative. While it may technically cause no harm, Lyre’s in no way endorses or encourages consumption of our product by anyone who is not of legal drinking age.

Lyre’s is in no way against alcohol. We do see a trend towards mindful drinking. Our approach has been to pay homage to the time-tested classics that make up the traditional alcohol category. We have just seen that there are times and occasions when you can’t enjoy these classic flavours and have to break the taste. By switching to a Lyre’s, or perhaps mixing your Lyre’s with alcohol, you can still enjoy the taste that has made these styles so popular, but you can manage the other factors that lead you to a non-alcohol/low alcohol choice.
We do believe that we can play a role by removing the stigma of not drinking that occurs with the obvious switch to a traditional non-alcohol beverage solution, especially in confronting social situations. By simply taking a drink and making it a Lyre’s, we can help by offering a degree of social camouflage, in that you can enjoy the same drink, served the same way with the same tastes, it just is a non-alcohol version, empowering you to drink freely.

Because Lyre’s does not contain the natural protection that a 40% alcohol content would typically afford alcoholic spirits, we do need to use a preservative.

The Lyre’s range uses potassium sorbate – a salt, and one of the most widely used preservatives in the world. We think it’s important that you know that every single non-alcoholic spirit on the market uses potassium sorbate too, to remain shelf-stable. The Lyre’s team is working hard on developing an all-natural replacement for this also.

In our RTD range we use sodium benzoate, the first preservative allowed in foods by the FDA and also one of the most common used food additives. We think it’s important to note that you’ll find it commonly used in most soda, bottled lemon juices, salad dressings and many other condiments.

To bring the true sophisticated flavours to life in Lyre’s, we use a range of natural sugars to match the mouthfeel and sweetness of the classic spirit style. This means that while Lyre’s is not sugar free, our calorie/kilojoule levels are much lower than our alcoholic equivalents because of our no-alcohol base. Making your drink a Lyre’s will reduce your calorific consumption compared to a full-alcohol equivalent.

Below is the sugar content per serve (30ml) and 100ml.
